Scraping Noise - 1600 RPM, 1800 - 2500 RPM - Install Modified Flexplate

Issue:

Some X-TYPE vehicles may exhibit a scraping noise from the automatic transmission at approximately 1600 RPM, 1800 to 2500 RPM and at 2500 RPM when driving.

A modified flexplate is available to resolve this issue.

Action:

In case of a verified customer complaint of the above condition, install a new modified engine flexplate (see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 303-01, SRO 44.20.01), noting the following:

Note:
In the Transaxle installation step 13 gives a torque figure of 48 Nm. This should be 80 Nm.

Note:
In the Transaxle installation procedure step 42 the reference to right-hand half shaft should read 'left-hand drive half shaft'.
