"No Phone" / "No Phone Fitted" Message Displayed - Revised PSE Module - Repair Procedure
Issue:
On some 2002 MY-ON X-TYPE vehicles, the radio or navigation screen intermittently displays 'No Phone'/'No Phone Fitted'. No phone calls can be made or received until the ignition is recycled, the message disappears from the phone or navigation screen and the phone system becomes functional.
A new telephone Portable Support Electronic (PSE) module with the latest level software is available to solve this concern.
Action:
In case of a customer complaint of the above condition, follow the workshop procedure outlined below.
1. Check the software level of the phone PSE before replacing the module. Press and hold the eject and AM/FM buttons together until the setup screen appears. Then press eject and mix together until a small box appears with letters and numbers. Cycle the two buttons together to obtain the information needed. The four items that will be displayed (if equipped) are MAIN... CDC... PHONE...NAVI...
2. If the PHONE (PSE module) software is 1.29, you will need to upgrade to the new 4.0 software by installing a new PSE module. (Refer to Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 419-08, SRO 86.56.59).
If the software already has the 4.0 software, contact the Jaguar Technical Hotline at 1-888-524-3577 for further assistance.
