SERVICE ACTION S934: Change in Specification - Reprogram Adaptive Restraints Control Module
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Model Year: 2002 - 2003
CONDITION SUMMARY:
Situation:
During standard calibration testing of a replacement Adaptive Restraints Control Module (RCM), it was noted that the deployment time for the side airbag and side curtain airbag was not optimized for one specific potential deployment scenario.
All vehicles within the above VIN range will have the Adaptive RCM reprogrammed to the latest level. A special tool has been developed to complete this repair. Special tool JAG 073 is to be used for this Action alone unless Technical Service advises otherwise.
This campaign will be completed as an Owner Notification program and, due to the overlapping VIN range, will be run in conjunction with Recall Action R935.
Jaguar Cars will be writing to all owners of affected vehicles requesting them to contact their nearest dealer to ensure that both repairs are carried out at the earliest opportunity. This is an ideal opportunity to ensure that all outstanding Service Actions are completed on X-TYPE vehicles included within this campaign. For details of other campaigns that may be applicable to these vehicles please see Recall Action R935.
