Condensation In Headlamps -

Repair Procedure

Issue:

Some 2002-04 MY X-TYPE vehicles within the above VIN range, may exhibit condensation buildup within the headlamp assemblies. A revised cap for the low beam (outer) headlamp has been released to address this concern.

Action:

In case of a customer concern of condensation buildup within the headlamp assemblies, install a revised low beam (outer) headlamp cap as described in the procedure below.

WORKSHOP PROCEDURE

1. Remove battery (see Workshop Manual, section: 414-01, SRO 86.15.01).





2. Unclip the left-hand-side low beam (outer) headlamp cap and remove cap (Illustration 1, left-hand-side shown, right-hand-side similar).

3. Install the new headlamp cap, reposition clips and secure cap.

4. Carry out step 2 and 3 for the right-hand-side headlamp cap.

5. Install battery (see Workshop Manual, section: 414-01, SRO 86.15.01).
