Replacement Fuel Tanks - Long Term Durability - Service Action S933
Issue:
A number of prototype parts have been used in parts replacement fuel tanks that may cause a concern regarding long-term durability conformance.
Jaguar Cars has identified those vehicles that may have had a suspect fuel tank installed. Those vehicles are listed in this bulletin and only those vehicles listed need to be checked.
Action:
Check vehicles shown, at the earliest opportunity to determine if the vehicle has received a suspect fuel tank. This can be determined by checking the control valve on the fuel tank.
If the control valve has a batch code of either 1912 or 1922, then replace the fuel tank.
WORKSHOP PROCEDURE
1. Remove fuel tank assembly see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 310-01, SRO 19.55.01.
2. Check the control valve on the fuel tank (Illustration 1). If it has a batch code of either 1912 or 1922 then drain and replace the fuel tank with a new one (see Workshop Procedure, JTIS CD ROM, section: 310-00, General Procedures, Fuel Tank Draining).
3. Install fuel tank, see Workshop Manual, JTIS CD ROM, section: 310-01, SRO 19.55.01.

Warranty Information:
Warranty Claims should be submitted quoting program code S933 together with the relevant option code. This will result in payment of the stated time and, where applicable, parts/miscellaneous expense codes.
The options that allow for drive in/drive out may only be claimed when the vehicle has been brought into the workshop for this action to be undertaken.
NOTE:
Always perform a DDW claim search first to determine whether this service action has been performed on this vehicle. The warranty selection under the vehicle inquiry will give a listing of all claims against the vehicle. If this service action number appears in the program code field, do not perform this service action.
