Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill
Snap-on tool FRDHM10
8 mm Hexagonal Socket

Drain
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Place a suitable container under the transmission.





3. Install a suitable 8 mm hexagonal socket into the transmission fluid filler plug.





4. using the Snap-on tool FRDHM10 and a 3/8 inch square drive bar, loosen the transmission fluid filler plug.
^ Remove the Snap-on tool FRDHM10.





5. Remove the transmission fluid filler plug.
^ Remove the hexagonal socket.
^ Remove and discard the sealing washer.





6. NOTE: If an integral problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metallic particles may be found from normal wear. However, if excessive metallic particles are present, internal inspection may be required.

Remove the transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Remove and discard the sealing washer.





7. Install the transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Install the new sealing washer.
^ Tighten to 8 Nm.

Refill





1. NOTE: Use transmission fluid meeting Jaguar specification.

Fill the transmission with 8 liters of transmission fluid through the transmission fluid filler plug hole.
2. Carry out a transmission fluid level check.
