Automatic Transmission Remove/Install - New Workshop Procedure - Revised Labor Times

Issue:

The replacement procedure for automatic transmissions and associated labor times have been revised on GTR.

The current workshop procedure calls for driveshaft removal. This is not required since the driveshaft can be detached from the transmission and tied aside.

In addition, the engine no longer needs to be supported using the engine support beam. In the new workshop method the engine is braced from underneath using the rubber blocks supplied with the Nike Powertrain Assembly Jack (Special Service Tool HJT1 200-2).

Action:

To remove/install an automatic transmission, refer to the new workshop method in Section 307-01, SRO 44.20.01 on GTR.
