Ignition System: Testing and Inspection

1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical or electrical damage.
3. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
4. The DTC summaries are generated to support the Jaguar approved diagnostic system, but also provide the basis for diagnosis of OBD related concerns using a suitable generic scan tool, in conjunction with the electrical guides. Until the DTC summaries and electrical guides are available, the engine ignition system can only be accurately diagnosed using the Jaguar approved diagnostic system.
