Creaking Noise When Braking Over Speed

Replace Control Arm

Remove and destroy Bulletin XT204-08, amended 04/05.

Replace with this Bulletin.

Issue:

Some X-TYPE vehicles operated in hot climates *(Mexico, Puerto Rico and Southern United States only)* may exhibit a creaking noise from the front end of the vehicle when braking over speed bumps. This condition is caused by the characteristics of the noise- deadening additive in the hydrobush fluid which is not effective in hot climates.

A modified control arm incorporating a revised bushing is available to resolve this issue.

Action:

In case of a *verified customer complaint* of the above condition, install a modified control arm on both sides of the vehicle as described below. Refer to Technical Bulletin XT204-09 or to the GTR website under section 204-01, for the removal and installation procedure.
