PINPOINT TEST G426404p9 : REAR BLOWER MOTOR AND CONTROL MODULE TESTS
G426404t29 : CHECK THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR FOR BATTERY VOLTAGE
1. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
2. Disconnect the rear blower motor connector RA04.
3. Reconnect the battery negative terminal.
4. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
5. Measure the voltage between the rear blower motor connector RA04, pin 01 (RG) and GROUND.
- Is the voltage less than 10 volts?
-> YES
REPAIR the circuit between the rear blower motor connector RA04, pin 01 (RG) and battery positive. This circuit includes the rear passenger distribution box (fuse 53) and rear ignition relay R2. Test the system for normal operation.
-> NO
GO to Pinpoint Test G426404t30.
G426404t30 : CHECK THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE GROUND CIRCUIT
1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
2. Disconnect the battery negative terminal.
3. Disconnect the rear blower motor control module connector RA03.
4. Measure the resistance between the rear blower motor module connector RA03, pin 01 (B) and ground.
- Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
-> YES
REPAIR the high resistance circuit between the rear blower motor module connector RA03, pin 01 (B) and ground connection G32BS. Check the ground connection for contamination and security. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> NO
GO to Pinpoint Test G426404t31.
G426404t31 : CHECK THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR GROUND CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
1. Measure the resistance between the rear blower motor connector RA04, pin 02 (G) and rear blower motor module connector RA03, pin 04 (G).
- Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
-> YES
REPAIR the high resistance circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> NO
GO to Pinpoint Test G426404t32.
G426404t32 : CHECK THE REAR BLOWER MOTOR CONTROL MODULE FEEDBACK CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the rear climate control module connector RA01.
2. Measure the resistance between the rear blower motor module connector RA03, pin 03 (WB) and rear climate control module RA01, pin 13 (WB).
- Is the resistance greater than 5 ohms?
-> YES
REPAIR the high resistance circuit. TEST the system for normal operation.
-> NO
TEST the rear blower motor. If the rear blower motor is OK, INSTALL a new rear blower motor control module. TEST the system for normal operation. If the concern persists, INSTALL a new rear climate control module.
