B : DTC P1122, P1123, P1215, P1216, P1344
B1 : CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEMAND SENSOR OUTPUT
1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
2. Measure the voltage between electrical connector CA88 pin 1 (O) and ground with the accelerator pedal released and with the accelerator pedal at full throttle.
3. Measure the voltage between electrical connector CA88 pin 4 (B) and ground with the accelerator pedal released and with the accelerator pedal at full throttle.
Does the voltage vary between 0.75 volts and 3.5 volts?
Yes
Goto B4
No
Goto B2
B2 : CARRY OUT AN ACCELERATOR PEDAL POSITION SENSOR COMPONENT CHECK
1. Remove the accelerator pedal.
2. Measure the resistance between pin 1 and pin 6 of the accelerator pedal.
3. Measure the resistance between pin 4 and pin 5 of the accelerator pedal.
Is the resistance between pin 1 and pin 6 between 546 and 1134 ohms, and between pin 4 and pin 5 between 975 and 2025 ohms?
Yes
Goto B3
No
Install a new accelerator pedal. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
B3 : CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEMAND SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND
1. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector PI 1.
2. Measure the resistance between electrical connector CA 88 pin 1 (O) and ground.
3. Measure the resistance between electrical connector CA88 pin 4 (B) and ground.
Is the resistance greater than 10,000 ohms?
Yes
Goto B4

REPAIR the accelerator pedal demand sensor circuit from the PCM to the accelerator pedal. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
B4 : CHECK THE ACCELERATOR PEDAL DEMAND SENSOR CIRCUIT FOR OPEN CIRCUIT
1. Disconnect the PCM electrical connector PI 1 and the accelerator pedal electrical connector CA 88.
2. Measure the resistance between PI 1 pin 103 (O) and CA 88 pin 1 (O).
3. Measure the resistance between PI 1 pin 102 (B) and CA 88 pin 4 (B).
Is the resistance less than 5 ohms?
Yes
DIAGNOSE the electronic engine control system. Electronic Engine Controls
No
REPAIR the accelerator pedal demand sensor circuit from the PCM to the accelerator pedal. CLEAR the DTC. TEST the system for normal operation.
