Exhaust System: Service and Repair

Exhaust System - 2.5L/3.0L/4.2L

Removal
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the support bracket.







3. Support the exhaust system with suitable stands.

NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.

4. Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.







NOTE: Left-hand shown, right-hand similar.

5. Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.







NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.

6. Detach the catalytic converter.







NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.

7. Detach the muffler and tailpipe hanger insulators.







8. Remove the exhaust system.
- Detach both front muffler hanger insulators.
- Remove the exhaust system.







Installation

NOTE: Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
- Tighten to 40 Nm.







2. Tighten to 6 Nm.
