Inspection and Verification
1. Verify the customer concern by operating the system.
2. Visually inspect for obvious signs of mechanical and electrical damage.

Mechanical Electrical
- Generator - Generator
- Generator pulley (vehicles fitted with manual transmission) - Battery
- Drive belt - Fuse 15 (5A) (primary junction fuse box)
- Drive belt tensioner - Fuse 30 (5A) (Rear power distribution box). Vehicles with 4.2L engine.
- Circuit(s)
- Electrical connector(s)

1. If an obvious cause for an observed or reported concern is found, correct the cause (if possible) before proceeding to the next step.
2. If the concern is not visually evident, verify the symptom and refer to the Symptom Chart.
