Transmission Fluid Drain and Refill (44.24.02)

Drain





1. Remove the transmission undertray.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.

3. Place a suitable container under the transmission.





4. Using the special tool, remove the transmission fluid fill plug.
^ Remove and discard the transmission fluid fill plug.





5. NOTE: If an integral problem is suspected, drain the transmission fluid through a paper filter. A small amount of metallic particles may be found from normal wear. However, if excessive metallic particles are present, internal inspection may be required.

Remove and discard the transmission fluid drain plug.





6. Install the new transmission fluid drain plug.
^ Tighten to 8 Nm.

Refill





1. NOTE: Use transmission fluid meeting Jaguar specification.

Fill the transmission with 8 liters of transmission fluid through the transmission fluid filler plug hole.
2. Carry out a transmission fluid level check.
