Principles of Operation
The auxiliary climate control provides the rear passengers with the capability to control their cabin zone temperature independently.
The auxiliary system is controlled by means of a separate climate control panel mounted in the rear of the center console.
The zone temperature for both rear seats can be entered via the control panel push buttons.
Control from the drivers seat over the rear zone temperatures is achieved from the navigation touch screen display module mounted in the instrument panel. Communication between the navigation module, the front climate control and the auxiliary climate control is via the CAN bus link.
The auxiliary climate system has its own air conditioning (A/C) evaporator and blower motor. The normal A/C compressor supplies the pressurized refrigerant to the evaporator.
