Exhaust System
Removal
WARNING: Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.

WARNING: Do not work on or under a vehicle supported only by a jack. Always support the vehicle on safety stands.
CAUTION: Make sure that the exhaust system is supported with a suitable transmission stand.
Raise and support the vehicle.
2 Remove both muffler and tailpipes.
3 Remove the engine rear undershield.
4 Remove the air deflector. For additional information, refer to Air Deflector
5 Remove the rear crossmember.
6 Remove the rear subframe crossbrace.
- Remove the rear subframe crossbrace.

NOTE:
Right-hand shown, left-hand similar.
Disconnect the heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.

Disconnect the catalyst monitor sensor electrical connector.

NOTE:

Detach the catalytic converter.

NOTE:
Check the hanger insulators for damage or fatigue. Install new hangers if required
Release the 2 exhaust hangers.
11 With assistance, remove the exhaust system.
Installation
1 To install, reverse the removal procedure.
2 Tighten to 40 Nm.
3 Tighten to 30 Nm.
4 Tighten to 62 Nm.
