Procedure 20 - Post Enhancement Program Quality Checks

REPAIR PROCEDURE 20: V00477 - V10285

POST-FEATURE ENHANCEMENT PROGRAM QUALITY CHECKS

1. To ensure new vehicle settings are communicated across required vehicle modules on completion of the software update carry out the following:

^ Switch the ignition 'OFF'.

^ Lock the vehicle; wait five minutes.

^ Unlock the vehicle.

^ Start the engine; leave running for two minutes.

^ Turn the engine 'OFF'.

^ Lock the vehicle; wait a further five minutes.

^ Unlock the vehicle.

^ Vehicle modules will have been reset successfully.

2. Perform the following static checks:

NOTE:
Unsold US vehicles only eligible for UPS3110 (K070) must have Owner's Handbook JJM 18 02 34 112 installed in place of JJM 18 02 34 111.

^ Place updated Owners Handbook JJM 18 02 34 111 (NAS English) / JJM 20 02 34 111 (NAS Canadian French) in the vehicle.

^ Inspect interior for damage and cleanliness, paying particular attention to the headliner and seats.

^ Inspect exterior of the Panoramic roof for damage.

^ Check the operation of the Panoramic roof and sun blinds.

^ Check operation of the business tray latches and vanity mirrors.

^ Set Interactive Voice(TM) language to either French Canadian or US English as appropriate.

^ Door glass initialization, luggage compartment lid stop.

3. Start the vehicle, move outside to an open area, and perform the following:

^ Press the voice button on the steering wheel; wait for the beep to end.

^ Using Interactive Voice TM, tune the radio to a known strong frequency, e.g. "Radio Tune Frequency Ninety Seven Point One". Ensure the radio frequency changes and is displayed on the HLDF and that the Voice Command is acknowledged by Voice feedback and the display in the cluster.

^ Enter the Navigation Menu, 'Accept' the disclaimer, and select the Navigation Menu.

^ Select 'Destination Entry'. Set Navigation search area; ensure the new buttons for 'POI', 'Home', and the numbered '1-5' stored location buttons are displayed.

^ Program customer radio presets (AM / FM / SDARS); insert CD if previously removed.

^ Ensure date/time is set correctly (local time, 12 / 24HR format).

4. Perform a road test, checking for the following:

^ Squeaks and rattles, paying attention to the Panoramic roof area.

^ Wind noise, paying attention to the Panoramic roof area.

^ Check steering system lock-to-lock and all fluid levels (V00477 - V02989 only).

5. Pair the customer's phone:

^ Delete 'jaguar' from the customers phone.

^ Refer to SSM45189, Phone Not Pairing After an IAM Software Update, and pair the customers mobile telephone to the vehicle (if necessary).
