Procedure 3 - Check Front and Rear Cross Seals
REPAIR PROCEDURE 3: V00477 - V09995CAUTION:
Ensure the vehicle interior is protected from damage, staining, or dirt.
1. Turn ignition 'ON'.
2. Open the Panoramic roof opening panel to the high-tilt position:
^ Press the Panoramic roof button to the tilt position.
^ Press the Panoramic roof button a second time to begin its slide rearwards.
^ Press the Panoramic roof button a third time once the opening panel reaches its highest position.
3. Turn ignition 'OFF'.
NOTE:
If seal is distorted, using a suitable tool make sure that the seal is returned to the original shape.
4. Inspect the rear cross car seal (affixed to the front of the rear fixed roof glass panel) adhesion:
^ If the seal has less than 15cm (6.0in) of continuous non-adhesion, continue to step 5.
^ If the seal has more than 15cm (6.0in) of continuous non-adhesion, continue to step 9 to replace the seal.
^ If the seal does not show signs of non-adhesion, continue to step 12.
5. Wipe the affected non-adhered areas with a suitable alcohol wipe; allow to dry.
CAUTION:
Ensure the front edge of the seal is not contaminated with the adhesive.
6. Beginning at the adhered position, apply a 25mm (1.0in) bead of Loctite(R) 406 adhesive to the contact surface of the cross car seal:
^ Use a suitable tool to align the seal to the glass, applying gentle upward pressure for 20 seconds.
^ Allow at least 10 minutes for adhesive to dry completely.
7. Repeat step 6 for all affected non-adhered areas.
8. Continue to step 12.
CAUTION:
Use care to remove the seal, stopping the tape from sticking to the vehicle.
NOTE:
1 is the roof opening panel; 2 is the rear fixed glass panel.
9. Remove the rear cross car seal from the rear fixed glass panel.
10. Wipe the affected non-adhered areas with a suitable alcohol wipe; allow to dry.
NOTE:
When installing the seal, remove the backing tape from the new seal in 20cm (8.0in) increments.
11. Install the seal to the end of the glass:
^ Use a suitable tool to align the seal to the glass, applying gentle upward pressure until the seal has been installed the full length of the glass.
12. Turn ignition 'ON'.
13. Fully open the Panoramic roof glass panel.
14. Turn ignition 'OFF'.
15. Inspect the front cross car seal (affixed to the rear of the front fixed glass panel) adhesion:
^ If the seal has more than 15cm (6.0in) of continuous non-adhesion, continue to step 20 to replace the seal.
^ If the seal has less than 15cm (6.0in) of continuous non-adhesion, continue to step 16.
^ If the seal does not show signs of non-adhesion, continue to next appropriate Repair Procedure.
16. Wipe the affected non-adhered areas with a suitable alcohol wipe; allow to dry.
CAUTION:
Ensure the rear edge of the seal is not contaminated with the adhesive.
17. Beginning at the adhered position, apply a 25mm (1.0in) bead of Loctite(R) 406 adhesive to the contact surface of the cross car seal:
^ Use a suitable tool to align the seal to the glass, applying gentle upward pressure for 20 seconds.
^ Allow at least 10 minutes for adhesive to dry completely.
18. Repeat step 16 for all affected non-adhered areas.
19. Continue to step 23.

20. Remove the front cross car seal from the front fixed glass panel.
21. Wipe the affected non-adhered areas with a suitable alcohol wipe; allow to dry.
NOTE:
When installing the seal, remove the backing tape from the new seal in 20cm (8.0in) increments.
22. Install the seal to the end of the glass:
^ Use a suitable tool to align the seal to the glass, applying gentle upward pressure, until the seal has been installed the full length of the glass.
23. Continue to next appropriate Repair Procedure.
