Restraints Control Module (RCM)

Removal
1 Connect WDS to the vehicle and up-load the relevant data.
2 Remove the cover and disconnect the battery ground cable. For additional information, refer to Specifications
3 Make the SRS system safe. For additional information, refer to Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering and Repowering
4 Remove the keyless vehicle antenna. For additional information, refer to Keyless Vehicle Antenna Service and Repair

NOTE:
If the SRS component is to be replaced, the bar code of the new unit must be recorded.
NOTE:
The RCM will record and store impact data. The module must be replaced when three records are noted.
Remove the restraints control module (RCM).
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.

Installation
1 Install the RCM.
- Tighten the bolts to 10 Nm (7 lb.ft).
- Connect the electrical connectors.
2 Install the keyless vehicle antenna. For additional information, refer to Keyless Vehicle Antenna Service and Repair
3 Connect the battery ground cable and install the cover. For additional information, refer to Specifications
4 Using WDS, configure a new module.
