Power Steering System Filling
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
1 Raise and support the vehicle.

Using a syringe, remove the PAS fluid from the reservoir.
CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.
CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.
NOTE:
Make sure that the component is clean, free of foreign material and lubricant.
Torque to: 20 Nm
CAUTION: Fluid must always be present in the reservoir during bleeding.
Fill the power steering reservoir.
1 Install the vacuum hand pump to the power steering fluid reservoir.
NOTE:
Apply the maximum vacuum possible on the reservoir for 1 minute.
2 Apply a vacuum to the power steering fluid reservoir.
3 Remove the vacuum hand pump from the power steering fluid reservoir.
CAUTION: Fluid must always be present in the reservoir during bleeding.
Fill the power steering reservoir.
Run the engine for 30 seconds.
Turn the steering fully lock-to-lock, stop the engine.
4 Install the vacuum hand pump to the power steering fluid reservoir.
NOTE:
Apply the maximum vacuum possible on the reservoir for 1 minute.
5 Apply a vacuum to the power steering fluid reservoir.
6 Remove the vacuum hand pump from the power steering fluid reservoir.
CAUTION: Fluid must always be present in the reservoir during bleeding.
Fill the power steering reservoir.
Run the engine for 30 seconds.
Turn the steering fully lock-to-lock, stop the engine.
7 Install the vacuum hand pump to the power steering fluid reservoir.
NOTE:
Apply the maximum vacuum possible on the reservoir for 1 minute.
8 Apply a vacuum to the power steering fluid reservoir.
9 Remove the vacuum hand pump from the power steering fluid reservoir.
CAUTION: Fluid must always be present in the reservoir during bleeding.
Fill the power steering reservoir.
Run the engine for 30 seconds.
Turn the steering fully lock-to-lock, stop the engine.
Install the power steering fluid reservoir cap.
