Rear Halfshaft
This is a "Trustmark Authoring Standards (TAS) Repair Procedure"
- TAS style procedures can be identified by steps that have no accompanying step text and the magenta color of the electrical connectors and fasteners such as nuts, bolts, clamps or clips.
- TAS removal and installation procedures use a sequence of color illustrations to indicate the order to be followed when removing/disassembling or installing/assembling a component.
- Many of the TAS procedures will have the installation information within the removal steps.
- The TAS color illustrations use a variety of symbols to indicate important details of the procedures. It is important to understand these symbols in order to properly used the TAS procedures.

Removal
CAUTION: The final tightening of the suspension components must be carried out with the vehicle on its wheels.
CAUTION: LH illustration shown, RH is similar.
1 Raise and lower the vehicle on a 4 post ramp.
WARNING: Make sure to support the vehicle with axle stands.
2 Raise and support the vehicle.

NOTE:
Use an additional wrench to prevent the component from rotating.

Installation
1 Clean the components mating faces.

CAUTION: Do not install the rear halfshaft fully at this stage.
CAUTION: Only install the rear halfshaft until the halfshaft splines have past the halfshaft oil seal.
2 Remove and discard the halfshaft oil seal plutector.
CAUTION: Make sure that the rear halfshaft circlip is installed correctly by pulling the halfshaft gently to make sure it is engaged.
NOTE:
Do not tighten at this stage.
WARNING: Make sure that a new nut is installed.

Torque to: 6 Nm
3 Install the brake disc.
Torque to: 103 Nm

4 Lower the vehicle.
Torque to: 90 Nm
Torque to: 150 Nm
Torque to: 55 Nm
Torque to: 300 Nm
5 Check and top-up the differential case.
