Manual Temperature Control - A/C Button LED May Illuminate Intermittently

OVERVIEW:

This bulletin involves the replacement of the Manual Temperature Control (MIC).

MODELS:

2006 (XK) Commander

NOTE:
This bulletin applies to Commander vehicles built prior to November 01, 2005 (MDH 1101Xx) and equipped with a Manual Temperature Control (sales code HAA).

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The customer may notice that the LED on the Manual Temperature Control - A/C On / Off button may illuminate (flash) intermittently. This condition may occur only during high vehicle speeds of approximately 112 Km/h (70 Mph) or greater. This condition may be accompanied by the intermittent cycling of the HVAC air recirculation door. An air rush or squeak-like sound may be heard as the recirculation door cycles.

DIAGNOSIS:

If the customer experiences the above condition, perform the Repair Procedure.

1. Replace the Manual Temperature Control. Refer to TechCONNECT for detailed repair instructions - Service Info tab / 24 - Heating & Air Conditioning / Controls / A/C Heater Control / Removal and Installation.
