Windshield Washer Spray Nozzle: Service and Repair
WASHER NOZZLEFRONT
REMOVAL
1. From the underside of the hood, remove the push-in retainers that secure the hood silencer pad to the inner hood reinforcement (4) as necessary to access the front washer nozzle (2 or 3) hose connections.
2. Disconnect the hose (1) from the barbed nipple of the front washer nozzle.
3. From the underside of the hood, release the integral latches of the front washer nozzle (1 or 2) and push the nozzle out through the mounting hole toward the top side of the hood (3).
4. Remove the nozzle from the top of the hood panel.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the front washer nozzle (1 or 2) to the mounting hole on the outside of the hood panel (3).
2. Align the anti-rotation tab of the nozzle with the anti-rotation notch in the mounting hole.
3. Using hand pressure, push firmly and evenly on the top of the nozzle until the integral latches lock into place on the underside of the hood.
4. From the underside of the hood, reconnect the washer hose (1) to the barbed nipple of the nozzle (2 or 3).
5. Reinstall the push-in retainers that secure the hood silencer pad to the inner hood reinforcement (4).
REAR
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the Center High-Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) from the liftgate outer panel.
3. Disconnect the rear washer supply hose from the barbed nipple (4) on the back of the rear washer nozzle.
4. From the back of the CHMSL housing, depress the integral latch feature (2) of the nozzle, while pushing downward on the nozzle nipple.
5. Disengage the nozzle alignment pins (3) from the receptacle (1) integral to the back of the CHMSL lens and remove the nozzle.
INSTALLATION
1. Position the nozzle into the receptacle (1) integral to the back of the CHMSL lens with the alignment pins (3) on the nozzle engaged in the saddle-like formations on each lower side wall of the receptacle.
2. Using hand pressure, press the nozzle nipple (4) upward firmly and evenly into the receptacle until the integral latch feature (2) is fully engaged on the back of the CHMSL lens.
3. Reconnect the rear washer supply hose to the barbed nipple of the nozzle.
4. Reinstall the CHMSL onto the liftgate outer panel.
