Leather Wrapped Cluster Bezel Warped or Peeling
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves cutting slots for the cluster bezel mounting clips and removing a section of ribbed material in the bezel mount to install a replacement wrapped leather instrument panel cluster bezel.
MODELS:
2007 (WH) Grand Cherokee (International Markets)
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
The instrument panel bezel leather covering is warped or peeling.
DIAGNOSIS:
If the vehicle exhibits the condition as described in Symptom/Condition above, perform the Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the instrument panel bezel. Refer to the detailed removal procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23 - BODY - INSTRUMENT PANEL - BEZEL-CLUSTER - REMOVAL.
NOTE:
In the procedure below, 1 slot is a different size than the others.
2. Using a 6 mm drill and xacto knife, drill and cut the 3 slots in the instrument panel retainer to the dimensions described below. (Fig. 1).
a. Cut the center and inboard slot to 6.0 mm x 20.0 mm.
b. Cut the outboard (closest to the drivers door) slot to 6.0 mm x 18.0 mm.
3. Using a file or other appropriate tool, remove 10 mm from the top of the rib located on each side of the cluster bezel opening (Fig. 1).
4. Install replacement instrument panel bezel. Refer to the detailed installation procedures available in DealerCONNECT > TechCONNECT under: Service Info > 23 - Body - Instrument Panel - Bezel-Cluster - Installation.
