Expansion Valve: Service and Repair
WARNING: Wear eye and hand protection when disconnecting components containing refrigerant. Plug all exposed connections immediately.REMOVE
1. Remove evaporator case. Service and Repair
2. Remove the insulation from the evaporator and expansion valve hose connections.
3. Disconnect the hoses from the expansion valve and evaporator. Use a second wrench to support the hose adaptors and plug the connections.
4. Unclamp the sensor coil from the evaporator outlet pipe.
5. Carefully unscrew the expansion valve from the evaporator. Plug the connection.
REFIT
NOTE: Use refrigerant compressor oil on all mating surfaces during assembly, to assist leakage prevention.
1. Fit the expansion valve to the evaporator with the inlet facing downwards.
2. Clamp the sensor coil to the evaporator outlet pipe.
3. Connect the hoses to the evaporator and expansion valve. Use new O-rings.
4. Wrap all exposed metal at the hose connections with no drip tape.
5. Refit evaporator case.
