ABS Light: Description and Operation

The ABS warning light will be lit during the self-check for 1.3 to 2.0 seconds. If no faults are stored in memory, the light goes out for 0.5 seconds before coming on again. It will then remain lit until the vehicle is driven faster than 7 kph (5 mph). This is the only time the light will be lit without indicating a problem.

Any faults detected by the Electronic Control Unit (ECU) will cause the warning light to illuminate. This indicates the vehicle may not have full ABS control.
