AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
DISCOVERY (LJ) All
SITUATION:
DAMAGE TO REMOVED "A" PILLAR MOLDING
Technicians have experienced difficulties removing interior A" pillar moldings without damage. The molding is most likely to be damaged at one or more of its mounting points. Although this molding is designed to be removed, all removal attempts should be done with extreme care.
RESOLUTION:
NEW TRIM COMPONENT WITHOUT TWEETER
A trim component without the pre-mounted speaker is being made available to reduce the cost of repair when damage to the A" pillar trim occurs.
The tweeter is not being made available separately. The entire trim assembly will have to be ordered should the tweeter fail.
To repair a damaged trim piece, remove the tweeter from the broken component and install the tweeter into the new molding using the repair procedure outlined in this bulletin.
Pay particular attention to the CAUTION indicated in the repair procedure.
