DETAIL

An electrical connector mounting bracket mounted on the right hand side of the transfer gearbox may have been incorrectly installed into the top of two mounting hole positions. A foul condition between the electrical connector and the floor pan may result Under certain drive/speed conditions this may cause vibration through the floor on the front driver or passenger side of the vehicle.

ACTION REQUIRED





Inspect the inventory vehicles according to the included list, for incorrect installation of the mounting bracket as shown on the illustration. If the bracket is mounted incorrectly, it should be repositioned, as detailed in the process below.

PROCEDURE

Bracket installation process

1. Inspect the electrical connector mounting bracket to ensure that it is mounted in the correct position (bottom of the two mounting hole positions), as shown in illustration.

2. If the bracket is incorrectly positioned (in the top hole position), remove the bolt and reposition the mounting bracket into the correct position as shown in the illustration.

3. The bolt should be retorqued to approximately 20 ft lbs (27 Nm).

Note:
Inspect the electrical connector for damage. Replace if necessary.
