No: 51/02/99/NASRef:
Issue: 1
Date: 12/10/99
Brake Line Bracket Modification Upon Differential Replacement
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
DISCOVERY Series I (LJ) All
DEFENDER 90 (LD) All
SITUATION:
REAR BRAKE LINE BRACKET DOES NOT FIT AFTER REAR DIFFERENTIAL IS REPLACED
When existing supplies of current-design differentials (FTC3272) are exhausted, a new design differential (FTC5142) will be supplied. After installation of the new design, spacer washers will be required to properly mount the differential mounted brake line bracket. The spacers compensate for differences in the casting used in the new design.
RESOLUTION:
INSTALL SPACERS BEHIND BRAKE LINE BRACKET
Upon installation of a new design rear differential (FTC5142) on a Discovery Series I or Defender 90 vehicle, before fitting the brake line bracket, install two spacers (TYF101160) between the bracket and differential housing.
