In some cases a buildup of clutch dust may cause the manual transmission input shaft seal to fail prematurely and allow leaks. The following procedure has been developed to replace the seal with an improved seal design that incorporates a dust lip to prevent reoccurrence of the seal failure. Transmissions built after number "0513063" have the new input seal
The diagnostic steps and repair procedures detailed on the following pages were developed as an element of the Land Rover Way OPERATION PRIDE. This TIB provides a library location for PRIDE information within the Land Rover North America technical literature system.

Upon customer complaint for the symptoms outlined, perform the specified repairs.
