The material used for the rear lamp surround may crack under stress from the bumper bracket when tightened. An additional washer is now being fitted to resolve the issue.
If a rear lamp surround is found to be cracked, when replacing the unit, an additional washer should be fitted on the fixing stud between the bumper bracket and the rear of the lamp (see illustration).
ACTION REQUIRED
When installing a replacement for a cracked bumper lamp surround, use an additional washer to prevent a reoccurrence of the problem.

Washer WC 105001L
PROCEDURE
1) Remove the damaged lamp.
2) Fit washer WC 105001 onto the lamp stud before refitting through the rear bumper bracket.
3) Fit lamp to rear bumper.
4) Secure lamp using the correct hardware.
5) Connect wiring and test the operation of the lamp.
