DETAIL

With the introduction of 235R tires we would like to standardize the look stop setting of all vehicles regardless of tire type. Therefore the process below must be followed when setting lock stops. Please update your Workshop Manuals accordingly.

The clearance between the tire and the radius arm should be approximately 0.75 in (20 mm).

ACTION REQUIRED

During Pre-Delivery Inspection, check the lock stop clearances on vehicles fitted with 235R tires and adjust settings as necessary following the process detailed below.

PROCEDURE

Refer to the Workshop Manual section 57 "Steering Lock Stops."

1. Measure clearance between tire and radius arm at full lock, this must be approximately 0.75 in (20 mm), and adjust if necessary.





2. Loosen stop bolt locknut.

3. Turn stop bolt as required to achieve the 0.75 in (2O mm) clearance.

4. Tighten locknut.

5. Check clearance between tire and radius arm on each lock.
