Improved Manual Transmission Sealing

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

Discovery (U) 1994 - 1997

Defender (LD) 1994 - 1995

SITUATION:

OIL SEEPAGE FROM MANUAL TRANSMISSION FRONT COVER

Incomplete sealing between the front cover and the transmission case can result in oil seepage and a customer complaint.

RESOLUTION:

SEAL WITH NEW MATERIALS

A new sealant is now recommended when assembling or repairing manual gearboxes. The Loctite product Loctite 5900 should be used.

PARTS INFORMATION:

STC50550........Loctite 5900 Qty as required (Shop supply)

WARRANTY CLAIMS:

Normal warranty policy and procedures apply.
Material allowance is included in labor operation.
