Child Seat Tether Bracket Installation
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:
AFTER-MARKET CHILD SEATS MAY REQUIRE A TETHER TO SECURE THE CHILD SEAT
Some after-market child seats require tether brackets to be installed in the vehicle to properly secure the child seat. Rather than using a bracket that is supplied with the child seat, Land Rover has specified a factory approved tether bracket that will not damage the vehicle's interior components.
RESOLUTION:
FIT FACTORY APPROVED CHILD SEAT TETHER BRACKETS
Upon customer request, fit up to 3 child seat tether brackets to the vehicle following the procedure below.
PARTS INFORMATION:
AWR1365 Child Seat Tether Bracket Assy. (Qty. as required)
AWR2591LUM Bracket Cover (Qty. as required)
BTR6681LUM Trim Stud (Qty. as required)
INSTALLATION TIMES:
Time 0.50 hrs Child seat tether installation - each bracket
Normal warranty policy and procedures apply
REPAIR PROCEDURE:
CHILD SEAT TETHER INSTALLATION
1. Remove top half of the tailgate aperture seal from the body flange.
2. Remove both left and right-hand side interior E-post trim finishers.
3. Remove both left and right-hand side plug fasteners securing rear edge of headliner to body.
4. Carefully pull down rear edge of headliner and locate mounting points for requested bracket location (right, center, or left).
5. Poke a pinhole through the headliner to locate center of mounting holes on body.
6. Using the marked pinholes in the headliner, center a spacer from the tether bracket kit on each of the pinholes and trace the perimeter to outline the size of holes to be cut.
7. Carefully cut the holes in the headliner with a sharp knife.
8. Verify the alignment of the cut holes in the headliner with the mounting holes in the body, and make the necessary adjustments.
WARNING:
To insure proper bolt retention, apply Loctite 242 to the threads of the bolt before installation.
CAUTION:
Exercise care in the following areas to ensure a professional installation:
^ Be careful not to soil upholstery during the installation.
^ Be careful not to cinch the headliner underneath the bracket mounting bolts during installation.
9. Apply Loctite 242 to the threads of the bolt.
10. Install tether bracket into vehicle, start the bolt and tighten to 30 Nm (22 lbf.ft.).
11. Install tether bracket trim cover onto the bracket.
12. Install all trim pieces, fasteners and tailgate aperture seal in reverse order of removal.
