Air Suspension - Valve Block Cap Replacement
No: 60/01/99/NASRef:
Issue: 1
Date: 04/09/99
Electronic Air Suspension Valve Block Cap
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
RANGE ROVER (LP) All vehicles prior to WA404774
SITUATION:
EAS VALVE BLOCK REPLACEMENT
At the above VIN a revised EAS valve block was introduced. The compressor electrical lead was also rerouted to prevent chafing and reduce vibration transmission. The improved routing of the compressor lead has enabled the rubber coil cap on the valve block to be deleted.
RESOLUTION:
REPLACE EAS VALVE BLOCK CAP
Upon replacing the EAS valve block on vehicles prior to VIN WA404774, ensure that the valve is topped with a rubber coil cap to prevent damage to the wire harness. Depending on the condition of the cap on the old valve block the cap may either be transferable to the new valve block or it may be necessary to order a new one. In either case, the valve block must be covered with the rubber cap.

REPAIR PROCEDURES:
REPLACE EAS VALVE BLOCK
1. When replacing the EAS valve block on a vehicle prior to VIN WA404774, ensure that the rubber coil cap is retained.
CAUTION:
All vehicles prior to VIN WA404774 must have a cap on the coil indicated in Figure 1 to prevent chafing of the wire harness.
2. If the rubber coil cap is in good condition, the cap must be transferred from the old valve block to the same location on the new valve block.
3. If the rubber coil cap is not in good condition or is missing, a new cap must be ordered to cover the new valve block.
