DETAIL

A number of reports have been received which detail corrosion of the screws and washers that secure the upper rear quarter panel to the body, in the region of the upper tailgate aperture.

Investigation has found that the current finish specified can be susceptible to surface corrosion. From Vin LH 656850 a new zinc coated finish has been applied to these fasteners which is much more durable than the previous finish.

ACTION REQUIRED

At pre-delivery inspection, or upon customer complaint of corrosion to the upper quarter panel fasteners, replace affected screws and washers with the new type detailed in this bulletin.

PARTS INFORMATION

Required parts (zinc finish) gold coloured. Screw AB 610041L (6 off).
Washer 4034L (6 off).

PROCEDURE

Only vehicies within the above Vin range should be reworked





1. Open the upper tailgate.

2. Inspect upper quarter panel screws and wahsers.

3. Replace 6 off screws and washers with the new condition type if corrosion is evident

4. When refitting the screws, ensure the back edge of the quarter panel is correctly located to the lower panel (no gaps evident).

5. Secure fasteners.
