"D" Post Sealing Procedure
1. Locate the 2 clips that secure the drip rail trim to the top of the "D" post (figure 4).2. Carefully insert a small flat blade screwdriver under each clip and twist the screwdriver blade to pop off the clips.
3. Remove the curved section of trim from the exterior of the "D" post.
4. Clean the area with body solvent (LRNA 60170).
5. Inspect the tab below the corner drip for gaps. Inspect zinc tape for poor fit or loose seams (figure 3).
6. Insert the applicator pump (Kent P/N 90010) fitted with a duck billed tip into the can of sealant (LRNA 10567). Apply sealant to any gaps or irregularities found during inspection.
7. If necessary, spray the area with body solvent and smooth the area with a small putty knife or screwdriver. Allow area to dry for about 20 to 25 minutes.
8. Replace the curved section of trim to the top of the "D" post. Apply 1 drop of super glue to the back of each retaining clip. Install both clips and hold in place, for about 30 seconds, until the glue sets.
9. After sealant cures for about an hour, retest the area for water leaks. If leaks occur, inspect the "D" post area for proper placement of sealant.
