Installation

! The new alpine light weather seal and sealing strip have the same part number as the previously installed version. The newer version is constructed of a harder rubber and the sealing strip is wider than in previous versions. Measure the sealing strip (figure 7) to verify new combination is being installed.

1. Install the new alpine light weather seal (P/N AWR1146 for RH, AWR1147 for LH) into the opening, making sure that the moulded corners are fitted correctly into the bottom corners of the opening.

NOTE:
The new weather strip does not require any sealant

2. Push the weather seal firmly into place around the alpine light opening, paying special attention that the top edge is fitted correctly to the top edge lip on the opening (figure 8).

3. Place the alpine light glass into the glass channel on the bottom of the weather strip and hold firmly in place.

NOTE:
Use Windex glass cleaner as a lubricant.

4. Use a plastic windshield stick or similar tool to lip the weather seal over the edge of the glass.

5. To make sure that the glass is properly seated, pat the top of the glass at the corners with the palms of your hands.

6. Lubricate the sealing strip channel on the weather seal with Kent K44 (LRNA 50015) silicon paste.

7. Place the new sealing strip (P/N AWR1145) into the eye of the installer (Snap-On Tool P/N YA208A).

! DO NOT CUT OR TRIM SEALING STRIP. When installed correctly, the sealing strip should wrap around the weather strip completely, with no gaps or excess strip. If gaps or excess strip are present, remove the strip and repeat installation.

8. Starting at the top center of the weather strip, feed the sealing strip into the weather seal channel to top center.

9. Water test the area again to ensure a proper fix. If leaks occur, inspect the alpine light weather seal for proper seating around the alpine light opening.
