Procedure: Interior Trim Removal

1. Remove the rear passenger seat belt anchor bolt on the side where the leak occurs.

2. Remove the rear quarter trim panel.

3. Ease the alpine light trim casing from the four fasteners and withdraw from the vehicle.

Vehicles with Rear A/C (Left Side Only)





^ Remove the rear header air distribution duct (figure 1).

^ Remove the rear A/C alpine duct.





^ Disassemble and clean the duct (figure 2).

^ The window cleaner provided in the distributed tool kit, or a similar solution such as Windex(R), is recommended for cleaning the duct.

4. If moisture is present but is of undetermined origin, carefully wipe the weather strip around the alpine light, the adjacent "D" post and corner drip rail area with a clean shop towel.

5. Perform the water test for the "D" post outlined below.

Water Test ("D" Post)








1. Using a shop hose, direct a forceful stream of water to the exposed edges on the zinc tape and to the tab on the underside of the drip rail. Water test the area for 3 minutes or until a leak occurs (figures 3 and 4).

2. If leaks occur, perform the "D" post sealing procedure outlined below.

3. If there are no leaks, perform the alpine light water test.
