Water Test: (Alpine Light)

NOTE:
If necessary, stand on a stool or stepladder for proper water placement.

1. Using a shop hose, direct a forceful stream of water to the exterior weather strip surrounding the suspect alpine light. Aim the hose at an angle so that the stream is concentrated on the top and sides of the weather strip where the weather strip and the vehicle body meet. Water test the area for 3 minutes or until a leak occurs (figure 5).

2. Carefully inspect the inside of the vehicle for water seepage around the alpine light weather strip. If seepage occurs, perform the procedures outlined below to remove and replace the alpine light weather strip.

ALPINE LIGHT WEATHER STRIP REPLACEMENT:

1. Locate alpine light seal strip seam at the top center of the window (figure 6).

2. Carefully lift the strip from the channel of the weather seal.

3. Stand on the bumper, and place one hand outside the glass to steady it. Push on the glass from inside the vehicle and remove.

4. Remove the weather seal from the opening and discard.

! Do not use a scraper on the vehicle body.

5. Use body solvent (LRNA P/N 60170) to remove any residual sealant from the opening and the glass. Use a razor blade or similar scraper to help remove any old sealant from the glass.
