On some vehicles the rear defogger grid lead and the high mounted stop lamp lead may come in contact. This contact will blow fuse F1. If fuse F1 is blown, the shift interlock system locks the transmission when it is shifted into the Park position.
ACTION REQUIRED
Bend the brake light lead tab and the defogger lead tab 180° to avoid electrical contact.

PROCEDURE
1. Locate the connector for the High Mounted Stop Light.
2. Bend the vertical tab 180° to move it away from the rear defogger grid (see illustration).
3. In order to maintain a neat appearance, bend the rear defogger tab 180° also (see illustration).
