TRANSFER GEARBOX OVERRAUL

TO: ALL RANGE ROVER DEALERS

Transfer gearbox assemblies should be repaired rather than replaced, unless the cost of repairing (parts and labor) exceeds 80% of the cost for a new or remanufactured part. This policy is detailed on page 20 section 2.3 of the Warranty Handbook.

There is an adequate supply of parts available to perform repairs. It is reasonable to expect units to be repaired when economically feasible.

Service training classes covering transfer gearbox overhaul are currently scheduled at Lanham during March and additional classes will be included in the May/June schedule for any mechanic needing additional training in this area.

This policy is effective July 1, 1988.
