Air Temperature Control Cable Adjustment
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:
LIMITED MOVEMENT OF AIR TEMPERATURE CONTROL
The customer may complain that the air temperature control knob does not rotate completely to the maximum or minimum position. If turned to the maximum or minimum position the heater control(s) may return slightly (bounce) when released. The cause for this symptom can be that the heater control cable is positioned incorrectly within the cable retention clips.
RESOLUTION:
POSITION CABLE RETAINING CLIPS
To resolve a customer complaint regarding heater air temperature control operation that do not exhibit a full range of motion, follow the procedure outlined in this bulletin to correctly position either the left or right hand heater control cable within the cable retention clip.

DDW WARRANTY CLAIMS:
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
Normal warranty policy and procedures apply. Material allowance is included in labor operation.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
ADJUST HEATER CONTROL CABLE RETAINING CLIPS
1. Release drivers side LH lower dash panel fasteners and lower the panel.
2. Release the passengers side RH lower dash panel fasteners and lower the panel.
3. Remove the four bolts securing the glove box and remove the glove box.
4. Release the heater control cables from the clips on the heater casing on both the LH and RH sides of the vehicle. (Arrowed in Figure 1 and Figure 2).
5. Hold RH heater control in the maximum clockwise position (heat) and secure the RH heater control cable to the clip on the heater casing.
6. Hold LH heater control in the maximum clockwise position (heat) and secure the LH heater control cable to the clip on the heater casing.
7. Turn the heater controls to minimum and maximum to verify that each control operates correctly.
8. Repeat steps 4 through 7 on either cable if it is jammed or bounce still occurs.
9. Install and secure the driver's side lower dash panel.
10. Install the glove box and secure with the four removed bolts.
11. Install and secure the passengers side lower dash panel.
