Wind Noise Correction
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:
PASSENGER SIDE WIND NOISE FROM THE LOWER WINDSHIELD AREA
The customer may complain about wind noise coming from the lower right side of the windshield. This may be the result of air entering the passenger compartment via the heater blower unit behind the dash and exiting through the windshield body seam.
RESOLUTION:
ADJUST HEATER BLOWER INSTALLATION
Interference between the sound deadening material and the air intake duct may prevent a proper seating of the duct to the bulkhead. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to correct the alignment and fit of the duct into the bulkhead.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
ADJUST INSTALLATION OF AIR INTAKE
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Refer to RAVE section 80.20.12 and perform the following:
^ Remove four trim fasteners securing the lower dash panel and remove the panel.
^ Remove four screws from the glove box hinges and remove the glove box.
^ Remove three bolts and two nuts securing the blower assembly.
^ Release the two relays from the blower assembly mounting bracket located on the right-hand side of the blower assembly.
3. Remove two bolts securing the glove box lamp switch bracket and move the bracket aside for access.
4. Carefully release the blower assembly from the studs, and move the blower assembly and upper support bracket aside for access.
5. Mark out and remove the surplus NVH insulation pad to allow the air intake duct to fit correctly to the plastic intake duct in the bulkhead (Figure 1).
6. Install the blower assembly ensuring that the foam seal is fully seated to the plastic intake duct.
7. Tighten the bolts to 25 Nm (18 lbf.ft).
8. Tighten the nuts to 10 Nm (7 lbf.ft).
9. Install the glove box lamp switch bracket and tighten the bolts to 6 Nm (4.4 lbf.ft).
10. Install the relays to the blower assembly bracket.
11. Install the glove box assembly.
12. Install the lower dash panel and secure with trim fasteners.
13. Connect the battery ground cable.
