Brakes - ABS Sensors Availability
TA03 7001April 20, 2004
Discovery Series II ABS Sensor Availability.
SITUATION
Individual component supply and the latest ABS software allow the ABS wheel speed sensor to be safely replaced separately from the wheel hub, provided standard cleanliness and normal care are observed during the operation.
RESOLUTION
The ABS wheel speed sensors are again available as repair components.
NOTE:
The policy outlined in TIB 60/01/01/NAS specifying hub replacement instead of sensor replacement is no longer in effect. The TIB has been removed from InfoTrail and GTR.
PARTS INFORMATION
NOTE:
ALL back orders against front wheel hub assembly TAY100060 and rear wheel hub assembly TAY100050 will be cancelled effective 20 Apri1 2004. Retailers with a requirement for these components, other than sensor replacement, should reorder. Order the individual sensors when diagnosing ABS sensor related repairs.
WARRANTY INFORMATION
DDW requires the use of causal part numbers. Labor only claims must show the causal part number with a quantity of zero.
