Correct Headlight Cover Installation

SITUATION:
WATER INGRESS INTO LIGHTS
Incorrectly installed or incompletely tightened headlight bulb access covers permit moisture into the headlight assembly. The customer may complain of condensation in the lamp, or of deteriorating headlight performance.
RESOLUTION:
FOLLOW CORRECT COVER INSTALLATION
Whenever an access cover is removed to replace a bulb, ensure that the correct installation process is followed to keep a tight seal for the headlight unit.

REPAIR PROCEDURE
INSTALL AND LOCK ACCESS COVER
CAUTION:
To avoid water ingress, headlight access covers must be installed correctly after installation of replacement headlamp turn signal or marker bulbs.
1. Position the cover for installation and align arrowheads on the cover with the arrowhead on the housing. (Figure 1).
2. Push the cover into the housing.
3. Rotate the cover clockwise until the arrowhead on the cover aligns with the dot on the housing and the positive stop restricts any further clockwise motion. (Figure 2)
