Right "A" Pillar Wind Noise Correction
AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
Discovery Series II (LT) 3A802000 to 3A810000
SITUATION:
"A" PILLAR WIND NOISE
The customer may complain of a wind noise at speeds above 32 km/h (20 mph) coming from around the top of the right-hand "A" pillar. A gap in the body sealant on the right hand drip rail is the probable cause.
RESOLUTION:
APPLY SEALANT TO AFFECTED AREA
When the customer complaint is confirmed, application of a sealant to the affected area will fill the gaps and remove the cause of the wind noise.
PARTS INFORMATION:
Locally sourced
^ Clear RTV silicone sealant (Permatex 66BR or equivalent)

Apply sealant to source of noise
FAULT CODE: C
Normal warranty policy and procedures apply.
Material allowance is included in labor operation.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
APPLY SEALANT TO AFFECTED AREA
1. Clean around the area to be sealed on right hand drip rail (Inset A Figure 1).
2. Apply sealant to fill the gap in the body sealant (Inset B Figure 1).
3. Remove any excess sealant.
