Engine Idle Speed Lower Than Expected.

P0506 - Engine idle speed control fault.: Last occurrence - minimum signal

Possible causes:
1. Ignition.
2. Fuelling.
3. Engine mechanical behaviour.

1. Ignition.
CHECK THE FOLLOWING:
- The following items must be verified and action taken before replacing the throttle body.

ECU FAULTS.
- Check if there are any ECU system faults, and correct them.
- A complete fault free cycle (apart from the current error) must be done before continuing.

UNSATISFACTORY ENGINE BEHAVIOUR.
- Check the spark plugs and replace as necessary.
- Check the ignition coils and replace as necessary.
- Check any other obvious components and replace as necessary.

THROTTLE BODY REPLACEMENT.
- Check a complete fault free cycle (apart from the current error) has been done.
- Check the engine is running smoothly at idle speed.
- If both these are OK, and the fault is still present, then replace the throttle body.
