SRS Overlay Harness Availability

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:

SITUATION:

SRS HARNESS REPAIRS MADE POSSIBLE WITH NEW SPARE PARTS

Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) harnesses servicing the various components of the system (seat belt pre-tensioner overlay harnesses, passenger air bag overlay harness, drivers air bag overlay harness and a complete harness) are being made available for service. The harnesses MUST be used if a repair is required to the SRS pre-tensioner or Airbag leads that are damaged/open circuit.

RESOLUTION:

REPAIR SRS WIRING WITH APPLICABLE HARNESS

Follow the installation procedure outlined in this bulletin to install a new overlay harness for the portion of the SRS system with damage. The harnesses must be used if any repair is required to the SRS wiring. When more than one element of the harness system is required, a complete overlay harness should be used following all of the individual installation procedures.
