Xenon Headlamp Diagnostic Aid

AFFECTED VEHICLE RANGE:
New Range Rover (LM) 2003 - 2005 ONLY

CONDITION SUMMARY:

XENON HEADLAMP DIAGNOSTIC AID - SERVICE PARTS AVAILABLE

Situation: This bulletin has been issued to provide information regarding available service parts for Xenon headlamp assemblies. The newly available service parts listed below should be considered before replacing an entire headlamp assembly.

WARNING: Failure to comply with safety and handling precautions may result in exposure to ultra-violet rays, severe electric shock, burns or risk of an explosion. When carrying out any procedures on a Xenon headlamp system, the following precautions must be adhered to:
- Safety goggles and gloves must be worn.
- The headlamps must be switched off before removing a bulb.
- The headlamps must never be switched on with the bulb removed from the headlamp.


CAUTION: When carrying out any procedures on a Xenon headlamp system, the following handling precautions must be adhered to:
- The glass portion of the bulb must not be touched.
- The bulb is only to be tested when the bulb is installed in the headlamp.
- The bulb must be disposed of in accordance with local authority bylaws and regulations.

Action: Where possible, known working components should be installed to diagnose the problem and the original/suspect component re-installed to confirm the original component as the root cause of the problem.
